Adam Peaty bloodied and ‘requires stitches’ after fight with Team GB team-mate

Eight-time swimming world champion Adam Peaty needed treatment for facial injuries after getting into a fight with one of his fellow Team GB stars, according to reports. The 28-year-old was said to have been involved in a bust-up with Luke Greenbank during a training camp at Loughborough University ahead of next year’s Olympic Games.

The Sun reports that Peaty was at the centre of a ‘very heated’ exchange with Greenbank which resulted in the former requiring stitches after being left bloodied. For the past two years, Greenbank has been dating fellow Olympic swimmer Anna Hopkin, who was previously in a relationship with Peaty.

The altercation was reportedly sparked after Peaty had cracked a joke at Greenbank’s expense before slapping his backside. ‘Absolute carnage’ then unfolded in front of witnesses as the pair began to fight, with Greenbank retaliating after being left ‘furious’ with Peaty’s behaviour.

It is said that both men were eventually persuaded by others to shake hands and put the fight behind them. The bust-up reportedly occurred at Team GB’s training camp on Friday, with coaches tending to Peaty’s injuries after the confrontation had died down.

Peaty split from Eiri Munro, the mother of his two-year-old child, last August and is now thought to be dating Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Holly. He triggered rumours of a romance with Strictly Come Dancing pro Katya Jones during his time on the show back in 2021 after he tried to kiss her at the end of a provocative routine.

He is widely regarded as one of the best breaststroke swimmers of all time, having won two individual Olympic gold medals and six world titles. Peaty has also broken the 50m and 100m breaststroke world records on several occasions and will be hoping to add to his medal tally at next year’s Olympic Games in Paris.
